Łukasz Pakuła, Joanna Pawelczyk, Jane Sunderland

Jane Sunderland (Principal Investigator)

Jane is a Reader in Gender and Discourse at the Department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University. She has published widely in the area of Language and Gender, with particular reference to language education. Her primary research interests involve gender in relation to discourse, with a focus on education, children’s fiction, and Africa. (in the capacity of mentor and consultant at all stages of the project).

Joanna Pawelczyk (Project Leader)

Joanna is a university professor at the Faculty of English, Adam Mickiewicz University. Her main research interests include Language and Gender, discourses of loss and grief, discourses of professions, discourse of psychotherapy and counselling, sociolinguistics, media discourses, discourse analysis. She also has extensive ESL teacher experience. (project leader).

Łukasz Pakuła (Project Leader)

Łukasz is a PhD student and researcher at the Faculty of English, Adam Mickiewicz University as well as ESP and ESL teacher at various institutions. His main research interests fall in the scope of Critical Discourse Analysis working in tandem with Corpus Linguistics, Language Gender and Sexuality, and Lexicography as reflecting societies. (project leader).

Bartłomiej Kruk (Assistant)

Bartłomiej is a Ph.D student and researcher at the Faculty of English, at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. He is also a practicing ESL teacher. In his professional career he has taught students at various levels of proficiency, ranging from beginners to advanced. Apart from ESL teaching, his second passion is linguistics and its intersections with social sciences. His research area includes language and gender and health communication. (research assistant).

Aleksandra Sokalska-Bennett (Assistant)

Aleksandra is a PhD student at the Faculty of English, Adam Mickiewicz University. She specialises in discourse analysis and her research interests include the discourses of gender and sexuality. She is a practicing ESL teacher at various levels of English. (research assistant).
